On 26/3/2021-27/3/2021 my team member, Ghassan Jassim Mohammed (PHD student), Aiman Haziq Bin Abdul Rahim (Second year, IT Degree) and me, Nurbalqis Qistina Binti Rosli with the supervised of Ts. Dr Abdul Hadi Bin Abdul Rahman have joined a humanoid robot competition organized by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.

This project tests the ability of humanoid robots owned by the ARVIS robotics club at FTSM UKM in carrying out the assigned tasks. Appropriate programming and movement methods are key to a robot’s success in completing tasks. Thus, this project requires the thinking of group members in solving 4 problems that are set, namely obstacle movement, weight lifting, penalty kick, and free dance movement.

Each solution is unique due to dimensional differences and specific movement requirements. Robot control as well as a combination of movements are key to task completion. This generated humanoid project can be developed in the future with different tasks and intelligence technology implementation requirements artificial such as image processing and natural language processing.

With the help and effort of every team members and supervision of Dr Abdul Hadi, we, as representative on behalf of ARVIS UKM compete in Malaysian university category and managed to won the first place in the competition.
